Thanks to your generous contributions, Project 50 has enabled our state partners to add to their skills and capabilities ahead of the midterm elections next year. This has included launching a new 501(c)4 “social welfare” organization to communicate with Arkansans named Progress Arkansas Project. We’ve also supported Indiana Reproductive Freedom PAC in hiring their first Executive Director. And we contributed to ReproRising Virginia’s very successful digital voter messaging in last month’s Commonwealth elections.

As we look ahead to the midterm elections, Project 50’s state partners are poised to launch their most ambitious electoral programs yet!
2026 Midterm Updates
Without question, 2026 will be the most important election since the U. S. Supreme Court issued its Dobbs decision and turned back the clock for American women by five decades to before Roe. As we saw from the pro-choice victories in Virginia last month, the winds of public opinion are at our backs. But that doesn’t mean we are assured of victory.
In the states where Project 50 is working, we're still dealing with extremist legislatures that have gerrymandered district maps to protect their hold on power.
Extremist incumbents will issue misleading messaging to distract from the votes they have taken to eliminate abortion healthcare for over 20 million American women.
Project 50 is taking the fight to the home turf of the organizations that oppose reproductive healthcare by working in states where abortion care is banned. The state organizations with which we are collaborating in Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia are all laser-focused on clawing back the right to make one’s own decisions about pregnancy and parenting. Several of our state partners will launch voter messaging programs for the very first time in 2026.
In each state we are coaching our partners to back a few strategically selected state legislative races, keeping our eyes on breaking anti-choice super majorities. This is the first step toward flipping entire legislatures, a long-game that will take multiple election cycles.
In the run up to the all important 2026 midterm elections - just 11 months from now - we will support our state partners in refining and implementing their voter messaging programs, in recruiting and training candidates and, importantly, in growing their fundraising programs to ensure the sustainability of these efforts.
I am traveling to state partners early next year to develop these campaign plans.
