Kimberly
Butler
Kimberly Butler has served as a Senior Program Officer at the George Kaiser Family Foundation since 2010, focusing on maternal and child health initiatives in the Tulsa Metropolitan Area. In this role, she has been instrumental in advancing programs that support families and improve health outcomes in the community.
Butler's work at the Foundation began in 2009 when she served as a consultant and Director of the Take Control Initiative, a groundbreaking partnership between the George Kaiser Family Foundation and the Tulsa Health Department. Recognizing that Oklahoma ranked 6th in the nation for unintended pregnancies, Butler led efforts to provide clinical services, outreach, and education about long-acting reversible contraception in the Tulsa area. The initiative's goal was to empower women with reproductive choice and help break the cycle of poverty—work that has had lasting impact on the community.
Before joining the Foundation, Butler worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for the State Coverage Initiative (SCI) Oklahoma from 2007 to 2009, where she conducted policy research, produced policy papers and graphical materials, and contributed to the Choosing Health Care All Together (CHAT) research project. Earlier in her career, she served as Food Program Coordinator at Rosie's Place, a women's service organization, from 2004 to 2005.
Throughout her career, Butler has demonstrated a commitment to addressing health equity and supporting vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on women's health and breaking down barriers to opportunity.
